Vinification and refinement
Our Toscana “Il Burchino” is produced with the grapes from San
Martino, Poggiarelli and Boccanera vineyards, carefully selected and
vinified at controlled temperature to maintain all the aromas and the
great minerality that distinguishes all wines from Burchino Estate. It is a
complex wine, with intense deepness on the nose that develops a soft
mouth feel where the best characteristics of Cabernet and Merlot from
Tuscany find space together with the classic Sangiovese notes.
Hand-picked grapes are immediately fermented in the modern cellars
of Burchino. A prolonged maceration with the skins gives to the wine
complex aromas and a fruity scent. The ageing takes place 12 months
in French oak barrels by 225 Litres. The wine is refined in bottle for a
further period.
Wine description
Colour: Intense ruby red with purple reflections.
Bouquet: Characteristic bouquet with plenty of cherry, berry and balsamic
flavours.
Taste: Soft and round with notes of licorice and vanilla, nice
acidity and balanced fruit.
Food pairings
Ideal with steaks and grilled meats, perfect with mature cheeses.
Serve at room temperature.
